An introduction

Welcome.

I would like to take this opportunity, with the first post, to thank you for checking out this blog. This will primarily be a platform for the DTA students to share their thoughts and experiences as PhD students in health-related biosciences, both on an institutional level, and as members of the DTA. This will hopefully include information on any training events we attend as DTA students, our thoughts and feelings as PhD students, and potentially interesting events and happenings at our host institutions.

It can be very daunting, starting a PhD, and we take on the challenge, knowing there will be highs and lows. Over the next three years, we will grow and develop into independent researchers, influencing the science of tomorrow. Our primary research foci address some of the key issues faced by the health services today, ranging from cells and molecules to rehabilitation and treatments.

We are a diverse group, from all across the country. The DTA enables us to form connections beyond our own labs and offices, allowing us to support and encourage one another as we make the journey toward our doctorates.

Please, take the time to look at our student profiles. At the time of writing, they are still being put together, and we hope to have information for the 2015 cohort complete soon.
